About Parakeets? :) HELP?
I know for a fact that I'm getting a parakeet for my birthday. I need help, though (any minister to you can offer would be nice) . My first pet ended up in catastrophe, (he died), but I just need some advice. I know I'm getting a boy. and it should be more or less young. How would i train him to speak? what do parakeets eat (specific please)? what kind of environment. (I live contained by Maine & it's pretty cold right now) what should i equip his cage with. oh yah is tommy a good pet name.?
I know profusely about parakeets, but I couldn't possibly say everything in one foul sweep.

Good name. Need to keep him from getting a chill. They construct parakeet food. Keep his cage clean and freash water. Talk to him repeatedly one phrase at a time. Like give me kiss or pretty boy. They are smart. Keep the cage covered at night...he will be tranquillity and sleep and it will help keep him warm. Go to a well brought-up pet store and they should have all the supplies yopu should need. Good Luck!
You need to buy parakeet food/small bird food (NOT wild bird food)
This food should be supplemented beside fresh food, but remember not to go overboard with fatty foods, and no processed foods (don't give him a slice of wonder bread, etc)
He cannot be vanished in the cold!He should absolutely not be outside during a winter within Maine, or left outside anytime. Parakeets are very fragile.
He will inevitability a big cage (absolutely not a rounded cage, but one with corners) and plenty of toys and diversions. His toys/diversions should be changed every few days. If you enjoy a good supply you can just rotate a couple. He should have a marine dish, and a food dish for parakeet food and one for fresh food.
Parakeets who do learn to speak never speak as clear as a large parrot. The best you can do is have a chat to him everyday. Pick a few words or phrases and repeat these often. If you want him to say "love you", tell him you love him 30 times a sunshine. Say it when giving him a favorite toy or snack, so he associates it with good things.
Be patient, education him one phrase might take months, and many many parakeets will never speak a word.
Remember that cooking on a teflon jar in the same home or using pelt spray or cleaning chemicals in the same room can easily KILL him.
Remember NEVER to pass him chocolate, or anything containing caffeiiene, and NEVER give him avacado.

um u mean parrot lol parakeets can only screech but if u receive one get a female one cuz if its 2 dudes they fite whether its just one by self he doesnt do anything and he looks sad
Answers: I had 4 parakeets fly away. so I know a lot something like parakeets.
one things for sure they are cute! ^.^ :)
If you don't have a play place for them I would suggest you train them to come on your finger. After you trained them tolerate them to fly in a small room. "You don't want Fat birds." Some birds bought are already trained.
I suggest you buy them.
