Advice on putting budgies together?
i have a 3 month old budgie i dont know the sex i am thinking of getting him a friend will it be ok to have two contained by cage and can they be any sex thanx
I find that Budgies are better off being within a group of two or three. This may direct attention they give to you to each other. If you aren't home normally then getting a friend for him would be a great idea.
Hi budgie love company of in attendance own kind . I have had budgie for plentiful years and have never had a problem with them warfare. Just make sure that have a larger round up big enough for two. It doesn't matter what sex they both are. If you have a spare enclose or could borrow one it could be a good idea if you hold on to them seperate next to each other for a few days to get used to respectively other but i have put budgie together before and never had any problem.
Answers: You can try to put them together, but they could end up fighting. If they do please separate them so they don't exterminate each other. If they are male and female, they will termination up breeding so you should get a breeding box. Make sure you get them from different places whether your going to breed them so they aren't related. The general rule for telling the genders of parakeets are males enjoy blue or purple beaks and females have white or tan beak. They have to be a few months old before you can detail though. Their beaks can change color a little bit.
i have 4 budgies in together and they are fine. if you do put within a little friend and it isn't the same sex then you might extremity up with little baby budgies. if you don't want that to appear then take the budgie to the vets and find out what sex it is and next go to the pet shop and ask for a budgie of that sex. make sure they own enough room in there hold.

You should own no problem,as you bird is only 3 month old you will not be able to sex it till at most minuscule 8 months and after it's first moult.
If a male then the cere (nostrils)will turn a shade of Blue,if a womanly,it will be a shades Cream to Brown.
The only problem is if you have a M/F,later they may want to breed.
Two Females are better together than 2 males.
