Why does my parakeet Violet not like being pet on her back? she other sqeaks!
Small birds do not approaching being handled that way. They are fragile and to some extent nervous. She's probably afraid you're going to eat her; that's when they do that loud squeaking, when there is a predator after them.
Mine is the same way, little Achetay hates it because he feel threatened though I do think this could be linked to the fact that I've have his sister, Berlay, longer than him. Where as Berlay doesn't like me to clip her wings and freaks out whenever she sees a couple of scissors.
They just have their own personalities.
Answers: Because the back is a sexual area on a bird. When you pet her there she is mortal stimulated.That's why she squeeks. If you dont want eggs and and possibly a egg bound bird don't do that.
some of late dont like it, and some dont like being pet on the front.
one of mine loved his pay for being stroked, and the other hated it!
its all roughly speaking something like they feel threatened as the wings are person restricted :)
