Button Quail / King Quail Help?

I have a female Silver Button Quail. I would like to bring her a friend. Would it be best to get her a male or a female as a friend?

Her inside paddock is 2m x 2m and her outside enclosure is a little bigger.

Answers:    Get her a mannish friend,your enclosure is big enough for them to breed in.

When you catch her a friend if possible keep them separate for 4-6 days,but in picture of each other,you can do this by putting a dividing wire partition within the inside enclosure.

The reason for this is if the Male get to excited he may hurt her ,a female will do the same,till they get used to respectively other.

A male will have a Black and white (silver)throat markings.(just in-case you are not sure)

If you can not get a Silver masculine any colour will do.

If you wish to breed from them make a little house out of a shoe box or simular as they close to to hide when breeding and nesting.

Having bred quite a lot of these enchanting little birds for the Pet trade and friends I always found it was best to have a trio 1male & 2 females
for the best breeding results.

better a mannish and hope she accepts him into her cage.If she doesn't you will have to move both of afterwards at the same time to a new cage.
They are territorial.
