Can a budgie and zebra finch share a coop?
i am not certain. go to a local pet store and ask the people. dont take the haphazard if you havent done research. cause they might end up conflict or trying to kill eachother..(different types of birds)wouldnt want that. :) good luck
God no!
The budgie is generally biddable but can have an aggressive streak when it feels threatened, and also budgie cages, and finch cage are sometimes really different. Your zebra finch could get hurt inbetween the wires of your budgie cage because they are wider. Obviously, putting the budgie in a small finch pen would be a silly notion anyway...
Budgies and finches groom eachother quite regularly, too, and a budgie beak could do serious damage to a fragile zebra finch.
I'd advise you to keep them seperate but close together so they can communicate. And be prepared for the crash!
Good luck!
You should never keep a budgie and zebra finch in a round up together is ok in a large avairy. It would be best to have two budgies or two zebre finches. I hold an avairy with a mixture of birds but i always make certain each breed has company of it own kind.
I wouldn't recommend it besides the size difference the diet difference is an barrier your budgie is a hard or hook billed bird where as the finch is a soft bill so there diets would massively a lot.
Thou if you are putting both types of birds in a unbelievably large aviary they could be ok.
whether you have both, you can try putting the cages close together see how they react...whether they seem interested in each other, surrounded by a friendly way, you can try.
Simple answer NO .
If you want them to adjectives be alive ... You shouldn't mix straight beaks and hooked beaks together .
Budgies are aggressive and finches are placid you could and will loos feet, eyes and etc whether house together even if they were kept in an aviary
Only whether you have a REALLY big cage, like an aviary. Otherwise, don't even try it. One of them could gain hurt.
no not a budgie they have different beak but i own a canary and a finch and they have shared a cage for 3yrs now they enjoy to have the same beaks
Answers: Budgerigars can be intensely protective of their territories and might attack and even kill zebra finches kept in an aviary near them. Better to play safe and keep them separate.
Absolutely NOT! The budgie could bite the finch's toes and cause serious damage.
The simple answer to your question ,is "NO"Budgies are of a too aggressive nature,to be kept with small finches, such as Zebra's.
Even within an aviary Budgies will aggressively attack small finches.
Even in the Wild ,Zebra Finches avoid Budgies.
Better safe than Sorry,NO to them been together
