Can anyone backing me beside Budgie trouble?
I have to budgies in my nesting box they are alone no rats can get contained by no other birds can get in so they are protected from everything. Anyways they laid an egg like 5 days ago afterwards the next morning i went to have a look and they own eaten the shell and the yoak, Now yesterday they laid another egg and i woke up in the morning and they have eat the other egg too.
Why are they doing this and how can i stop them?
I am pretty sure she will lay another egg soon so i need help prompt any help will be grateful.
they must be hungry or something...tat is really weird...i have 9 budgies myself any tat should not happen, conceivably they didn't want to mate and have babies, idk srry
Budgies will lay 4-8 eggs give or take a few every 1-1.5 days, but if they are eating them you need to pocket their nest box away & restrict their light to 8-10 hours per day. This should stop the breeding urge.
If she is allowed to verbs, there is a good chance that she will die from lay too many eggs. Budgies can lay several clutches a year, so the light restriction & nest box removal should probably be a continuous entry.
Once they have tasted raw egg and know where on earth it comes from, they will usually never stop.
You can use a dark blanket to restrict their light & placing them within a quiet room for the night is also a good model.

Answers: She will not stop doing this. If you really want to save these eggs put the eggs under another hen that have eggs. You need to be very quick draw from to her before she eats them. Once she has laid 4-5 eggs shut her out of the nest box. One more item make sure that your hens have access to fine shell grit and cuttlebone.
