Can I own any species of bird within an apartment?

My husband would like a bird but we live in an apartment so I'm worried about it making echo while we're at work. Are there any species that are on the quieter side? We're in a corner apartment and I never hear my neighbors but I'm just worried nearly having a bird there.
If you need a quieter bird, a smaller bird is what you need. The larger the bird, the louder they can be. But even a simple little cockatiel can make abundantly of noise. A caique, can be a little quieter than many smaller birds. Although they still net noise, they are not quite as loud as some. They can be taught to do greatly of tricks, very easily too. They are little clowns. An African Grey, conure cockatoo, amazon, or macaw are not a good choice for an apartment. They can be hear through the walls very easily when they scream and whistle or even tell loud. A macaws scream can be heard for up to a mile. Choose something like a love bird, budgie, caique, or cockatiel or even a finch. These are much better choices, and lift up less room. Please read my profile.
an apartment isn't the best setting for a bird to begin beside, they need space to fly around at least once a day, and flawless ventilation, because a lot of things you use around the house, such as cleaning products, Teflon pans etc. are toxic for them to breath surrounded by the fumes from.

However, finches, and cockatiels are on the quieter side. Now, cockatiels can squawk very loudly, but they don't normally do it repeatedly, and the quieter the room is, the less expected they are to make noise. Make sure you grasp two, they will play with eachother in the cage and that decrease the likelyhood that they'll squawk alot. also, the brighter the room, the more likely they are to make noise. Oh, and whether you get a lot of phone calls turn down the ringer when you're at work, or the bird might pick up the quirk of mocking the phone...it can be quite annoying lol.

Whatever you do, don't get parakeets! They are the loudest birds you've ever heard!

biddable luck!

Try to be respectful of your neighbors. I can hear my neighbor's cockatiel across the complex, but I enjoy been around birds and other animals so long it doesn't bother me. A parakeet or finches are good choices for an apartment, as they are small and don't need the room that a voluminous parrot would need.
Small birds are best. Still keep in intellect the small Quaker parrot which is only a little bit larger than a parakeet can well be heard through the walls of an apartment. The BEST thing you can do BEFORE you get a bird is assemble with the people living on either side of you. Tell them you are bringing domestic a bird and honestly ask if it is ok with them. Tell them they might hear it occationally but you will do your best to keep the boom level minimal. If they say no then its best you dont whether you want to avoid getting reported.
When I had 2 budgies in my apartment my neighbor could easily hear them through the wall when they get loud and when I got my Quaker they could REALLY hear him but both neighbors like my birds and come over to play with them on occation so it is fine. Just hang on to in mind, if you are contained by an apartment with thin walls no matter what you attain chances are the neighbors can hear them. If you follow like I explained you should be able to avoid a complaint.
Answers:    I have lived contained by two apartments with my Pionus parrots: a Maximillian and Blue-headed Pionus. They are VERY QUIET, and known as righteous apartment birds. Do some research and you'll have trouble finding someone who disagrees. As long as you have space to give it a hulking cage (so it can be happy when you're not there) and are willing to treaty with the mess, these birds would be great. Look into local breeders, rather than a pet store (their prices are outrageous for these birds). I had to travel 4 hours to drop by and eventually pick up mine, but it was well worth it.
Ok, I have 4 birds surrounded by my apartment and its fine. I have 2 budgies, a cockatiel and a quaker parrot. Now, the quaker is abit loud. my cockatiel is quiet but some can b riotous too. If u r after something bigger than a budgie, u could always go for an eclectus parrot. They are pretty inert and just a relaxed bird, well Ive come accross 4 and thats how those have be. It depends on the bird and its personality anyway. Im at home wit my birds adjectives day so thay r getting lots of attention.
