Can I nurture my conure lettuce, and spinach ?
lettuce
yes you can :)
I would go confident on the spinach cause it can bind calcium so their bodies cannot absorb the calcium..as for lettuce no ice berg lettuce it is adjectives water and no nutrients, offer dark leafy romaine lettuce..but even better than romaine lettuce is poorly lit leafy greens like collard greens, mustard greens, endive, escarole. You can also feed your conure grated carrots, squash, bell pepper, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, corn, green beans, peas, blue berries, jicima, yams, sweet potato, mango, papaya, fresh pumpkin...
Answers: Ice Burg lettuce (common) is mainly water & no nutrition whatsoever. You can feed them lettuce as it will do nil to the bird other than give them runny poop, not diarrhea. Red lettuces, cos lettuces etc are a lot better for your bird nutrition astute.
Spinach is loaded with DDT, permethrin, chlorthalonil & other carcinogenic pesticides. Excessive amounts of spinach stops birds form absorbing calcium properly. Spinach is OK in SMALL amounts & not offered frequently.
Sure can. Most all Parrotts love vegetables. Mine loves spinach, broccoli and romaine lettuce.
Yep! except the bird store by my house had this list of things parrot can't eat...one of them was lettuce but I always impart that to my birds and it was in a book about my cockatiel that you can donate it to them.so I don't know... here is a link of things that are bad for parrots whether you are interested
