Can I offer fresh cuttlefish bone to my budgie?
We picked up some cuttlefish bones on the beach this afternoon. How can I make them safe for my budgies to get through?
you should wash the cuttlefish bone in good health and dry it and scrape of a thin layer of it and throw that gaunt layer and you can then give the cuttlefish bone
Well..cutterbones are made from cuttlefish bone but the salt mite mess up their digestive system...
i really buy cutterbones from stores..jst incase buy a cutterbones from the store..u dont kno wut mite happen to ur budgie(s)
conceivably u can by boiling them in hot water then agree to it dry for about 2 days until its about crispy
wash them next to hot water then hang after!
i live by the sea too
NO! You can never attain enough of the salt off ot them, particularly on the inside! The cuttlebone IS made form the cuttlefish, but use a commercially sold one so you know the bird won't be getting too many poliutants or salt.

As the other poster said, it IS from the cuttlefish. If there be no way of getting the salt out of the bone, then they wouldn't be selling them commercially any. You will want to soak or boil the bone (boiling would also kill any bugs that may be lurking), and then let it dry surrounded by the sun or on low in the oven.
Bored,
Oh no, you have the wrong idea! It's call cuddlebone, it's not a cuttle fish's bone! Go to your local pet store and they'll tell you.
