Chicken layed egg near no shell?
My hen layed an egg with no shell and no membrane at all any ideas how this happen
CALCIUM definitely
Provide oyster shell for calcium. You can also dry, crumble and nurture egg shells from eggs you've cooked.
If it continues, even with added calcium, your chicken could have a disease. There are a few that can cause this. A honest reference is The Chicken Health Handbook, by Gail Damerow. A good site for information from friendly fellow poultry enthusiasts is homesteadingtoday.com
Answers: It needs oister shells because it will give it protien so the eggs will have shells. http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/...
you put it into a feeder such as this 1 http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/product/...
Hope it works!! :)
the chicken isn't getting the calcium in its diet that it desires to make a shell.
You have to nurture it more calcium. Like corn or something. I not enough, she will never hatch a egg with a shell again.
