Convincing my mum??
hi everyone. im 12 and i have 4 budgies. they have just have babies and i really want to put one of them in my bedroom however my mum doesnt want me to. Any ideas how i can get her to changeover her mind.
thank you all
Wait till the babies are a bit older before you take them absent from the big birds. It's good for them :)
maybe she thinks you'll be distracted by it or you won't be capable of keep your room clean enough. so keep hold of your room really tidy and get all your homework done on time and she'll trust you more and she might tolerate you.
Hop this helps. :)
As a breeder and a mother I would have to say can you ask her if you can save one But not in your bedroom ..
Also you will need to wait until the babies are fully fledged until that time you remove that mean that the babies are eating on their own not their parents feeding them which would be around the 6 week sucker but can take up to 8 weeks for some slow ones ...
Baby budgies make the most mess they like to verbs all their seed out and it goes EVERYWHERE! which will after bring mice into the home ...
Feather loss during the moult ( at 12 weeks) will cause more mess
But having birds within a bedroom isn't the best place for them ...
They need to be where EVERYONE is all the time close to a family room or a lounge room - a bedroom you will only spend 4 hours with whether that a day where as the other parts of the home the bird/s will enjoy more interaction :D
Also then there is health issue for you! that you will requirement to consider too
Answers: If your budgies just have babies, I would suggest that you keep the chicks with their parents until they fledge. Then, you can separate them.
Keeping your budgie surrounded by your room would cause a mess if the bird scatters its seed and starts moulting its feathers. I'm sure your mom just wants to hang on to your room clean. Besides, the budgie would live happier in a separate cage subsequent to its relatives.
