Did my bird kill in cold blood my sisters birds?
About a year ago my two sisters and i each got a budgie. When we got domestic it looked like we had gottan 2 males and one female.. we where on earth worried about the males fighting over the female.. we watch them carefully and there was no warfare, they looked like GREAT friends.
About 3 months ago the we found the female,Tweety, dead at the bottom of the hold =( (r.i.p tweety). {The thought that the other birds could have killed her never crossed our minds since they all seem like good friends}
Yesturday i found Kiwi, male, late at the bottom of the cage =(
(r.i.p Kiwi).
Is it possible that my bird,Gizmo, killed my sisters birds??
I have call the pet store.. they said that that was weird but because the one male is alone immediately that i should go and buy another budgie so he has a friend, im not wanting to get another as Gizmo could be the sense of the deaths of the other 2.
Ive seen mirrors and plastic birds in some pet stores.. should i carry one of those if it seems like he's beome lonely?

no, i would skulk at least a month to make sure in attendance was not any medical problem with the birds first. they might hold been sick and if you get a clean one, and put it with the survivor, it might get sick and die too. birds have a great process of hiding their illnesses.
It is a opportunity. But also have to consider here that they may have a disease or that something in house is massacre them. To be safe before I added any more birds at all I would lug remaining bird to vet to see if he is sick. they can sometimes carry the disease without getting sick themselves. Good luck.

If one suddenly died you should enjoy quarantined the other 2 & taken the dead one to the vet to find out what killed it.
Now you have the moment one that's died, you should take it to the vet & find out why. Take your current one to the vet & make sure it too won't die, disinfect pen, toys, perches, all areas the birds have be in to remove any infections they may have had that may hold killed the birds.
Also look into toxins within your home. If you use, sprays, candles, anything that own an odour or scent will kill your birds.
If it was another bird that killed it you would spot, blood, holes, missing feathers, all signs of a fight.

Answers: It could be a moment ago the diseases that are contagious, the first bird got it and the second bird caught it, you might want to take your final bird to vet to make sure everything is okay.. Birds gets bird flu normally.. It could be anything..
you should put some video camera set up and record the bird cage while you guys are out of the house when you buy next bird, purely in case.. If he did get aggressive next to other birds, it might be best to have two cages next to respectively other, so they are not lonely, and don't have to share their cage and cant hurt each other that approach..
mirrors and plastic birds would work too.. it's up to you.. Hope you will get this figured out.. Im sorry about your sister's birds..
