Have you ever hear of a bird that didn't fly absent for the winter when it should enjoy gone?

Yes. My Norwegian blue.

Sadly departed now. Deceased. Gone. No more. It is an ex-Parrot.

Edit: Poor fellow is 'Pining for the Fjords' is what my Vet said.
It often happen to an wounded bird and it seems likely that injured specimens could breed with others within the same predicament, ultimately changing their habits. It may be that the Redwings breeding contained by Scotland have become established in this way.
Robins often stay up north instead of migrating. Canada goose 's often stay over the winter.
actually here in Newfoundland Canada alot of ducks a short time ago stay in the province all year round And never leave regardless of weather. Its unexpected i thought all ducks flew south for the winter...but not here.hmm

A young gannet was left by its parents on the Bass Rock this year when they migrated. It be born too late to migrate.
