How do I introduce a unmarked budgie?
I have a male 2 year old budgie and want to capture him a friend. i was advised a female. How do I introduce though? will they row is a female right? she is only 8 weeks old is that ok?
Answers: Hmm. Your budgie is still immature, so there's a possibility that they will get along. If your going to get a feminine bugie you should get it soon - Before your 2 year old budgie gets used to anyone alone. When you buy the budgie, I guess just do what there is to do - Place her in the enclose with your first budgie. Maybe talk to both your birds, say something resembling "Look -inserbudgiesnamehere-! I bought you a new friend! Say hi to her!" and such.
An importent note - If your bugies are hurting eachother (One of them shows signs of wanting to be away from the other budgie ,human being depressed, or is bleeding) After a few days, Seperate them immediatly. It just means that your 2 year old budgie have already gotten comfortable with just having you around, and doesn't want a friend. I doubt that will happen, though. =)
Good luck with your new pet!
I enjoy two beautiful budgies. I got my first one Kyle (my wife and I later found out he be a she). We then decided after about a year or so, that Kyle needed a friend. So my wife and I bought Token (Each bird is name after a South Park character). We place Token (our new bird) in a cage across the room from Kyle. In a couple of days, conceivably a week, we moved the cages next to each other. We permit them stay like that for a week or so. Then one day (we always permit the birds out to play) when it was time for the birds to go back into their cage, they both went into Kyle's cage. They have be happily living in the same shut within for 4 years now. Each budgie is different, so give them a little time to grasp to know each other, and they should be fine.
