How do i train my crazy cockatiel?
got given a cockatiel but i don't know how to train it. i think it may ne a bit old

I know they recommend keeping a little distance and conversation to the bird in a reassuring tone until he becomes more comfortable next to you. Good luck :)
I have two tame cockatiels and they are very trained because they are massively nice and affectionate and the reason for that is because I have trained them and created a markedly good bond between them..
Try this book it's called cockatiels for dummies and I will give you some websites for looking up training and bonding and stuff..

Answers: It depends on what you want to train it to do...have a word, step up, tricks? because first you need to develop a bond with the bird, after that start to teach it nouns and praise it when it does as you ask. I suggest you buy a book on parrot training its a unbelievably complex subject.
