How do u differ mannish & womanly love birds?

the color at the top of the beak there is a strip of skin if it has a bright er color it is a boy whether it is a pale color it is a female .
To the other poster that is for a BUDGIE NOT a lovebird. Two totally different birds.

You can not tell
i am guessing you suggest Peachfaced lovebirds?
There are after all i think 9 species I believe one or possibly 2 are in reality able to be told on sight
however the two are not overly common though the one is getting hold of popularity it is the Abyssinian (sp?)
However the most common pets are peachfaced Fischer's and masked.
There is no way to tell sex on viewing
you can not give an account for sure unless one lays a egg or you have a blood test done

You can cram about all 9 with a prod of google it is sure to give the info I know Parrot Parrot has the account as does the New Zealand lovebird group site.

Answers:    In Peachfaced lovebirds (the most common kept as pets) there are very few apparent traits that indicate male/female. If you know what color mutations the parents were and if they carry any sex-linked traits (ie lutino) you may know how to determine gender.

Some people think that pushing on the pelvic bones can distinguish sexual characteristics. Females may have more flexible pelvic bones, but this usually after they have laid eggs, at which point you would own already figured out she was a she.

Shredding of paper is a feminine obsession (great nesting material), but I have a male you can shread a short time ago as good as any hen!

Really, aside from DNA testing or surgical sexing, eggs being laid (female) or next to a pair fertile, eggs=babies (male and female) there is no way to know feminine from male.
in fisher lovebirds male's cranium is darker then female
