How does a tiny bird lay loads of big eggs:s?

But if you think about it...I guess even for a chicken must be moderately painful to make one single egg...then the female bird can consider herself (cause i suppose is a lady ladybird making eggs) can be lucky compared to the poor chicken!

its like a snake that can unhinge its jaws the little bird can unhinge constant bones allowing for larger than expected eggs to come out. How they all stay and fit inside the bird is another mystery, but if the magic conservatory bus is right the hard shell is one of the last things to develop and it probably has a soft spot basically like human babies have on their heads.

Answers:    Good question . I often wondered that myself. We watched a tiny hummingbird plague a nest made out of spiderwebs with eggs that seemed impossible for her to carry within her tiny body.5 babies hatched to visit our feeders for several years to come. Also the very small Japanese quail we have would lay 2 to 3 eggs a day. Amazing creatures determined to carry on the species.
