How much handling does your bird tolerate?

I have a Congo African Grey that enjoys having his herald scratched sometimes and he also lets me stretch out his wings and pet his back. There are days, however, when he doesn't touch like being petted, but only requests to be held. He also likes having his beak scratched and sometimes I "beak wrestle" with him.

I've hear of many people not even being competent to touch their birds and others that have birds that will roll over on their back to have their tummy scratched. What give or take a few your bird?
so far my mimic only lets me hold him on my fingers only wen he flys out of the cage(rarely)so ur lucky my impressionist wont let me even touch him lol
DinoLuv,

I don't have an African Grey, but they are magnificent birds! I have three parakeet and two cockatiels. The parakeets solitary allow me five minutes a day, if that. My cockatiels will let us spend hours petting them and scratch their heads, but on some days if you touch them they go into a fit of hisses.
Answers:    Well my grey's a bit like yours. He loves being petted most of the time but he also enjoys time to himself basically playing and climbing. They always let us know when they've had adequate.
My bird would only endure a few second of handling. It all depends on how much they were handled when they be young.
About my first time cockatiel?   Is it cruel to force my cockatiel to fly?   Lovebirds lay eggs sustain ?   Is it everyday for paraketes to run into the wall and ceiling?
