If you want to get a pet toucan, the price would average about 4,000 dollars for the bird alone. I would advise against it, though, because they are forbidden.

Answers:    They're not illegal, first of all, but some states DO require you to have a receipt.

Outside of that, they ARE expensive, and the ones you'll usually find hand fed will be the Aracaris - Most specifically Green Aracaris.. which will run you within the thousands.

Not to mention, they have an extremely specific diet that must be met, along with HUGE cage requirements, and they hold EXTREMELY messy poop.
