One chicken and one duck? Please don't say you live surrounded by a flat as well... the duck needs a big pond and other ducks, the chicken needs other chickens - once they are adjectives happy in their new groups they won't collide.
We have chickens, ducks and geese and they all live in the one paddock and never fight. They just ignore respectively other really.

If you let hem stay together they will kill in cold blood each other. I have 32 chickens and 10 ducks they are in different pen so that wont happen.
I would keep them separate until they get more used to each other. They are playing the dominance hobby. Get a pet gate and use that or just in different areas but possibly where they can still see and hear each other. Congrats.
