I entail help out identify a bird see within northwestern New Mexico?

Yesterday a large bird landed under our porch roof and subsequent to a window. It's head would remind you of a dove, gray, but with a much larger bill. It have a grayish chest with black speckles and dark wings. I've lived here for 25 years and own never seen this bird before. This doesn't seem to be the time of year for migratory birds. Anyone own photo's or ideas of what species this could be?
Answers:    Might need a little more info..how big be the bird...dove sized? Was the rest of it's body gray as well? I might guess it was a juvenile Northern Mockingbird, or maybe even a Thrasher.
