Is it desperate to nurture pigeons white bread?
Someone told me they can't digest it properly.
What can you feed pigeons that won't kill them?
I like pigeons. :]
White bread is not that nutritious for humans or birds. Dried legumes and a pigeon mix (as suggested by the previous poster) are best. You can slickly pick up any of these foods at a local feed store.

Answers: I am so blissful someone finally likes pigeons on here! YEAH! :)
I have lots of fancy pigeons, they make wonderful pets. Pigeons are not rats next to wings, they are just like any other bird, apart from they are more successful at breeding and rearing young!
Do not feed them white bread or any type of bread, or rice at all. this will move about into there crop (stomach) and swell with moisture like a sponge. There for the bird can not digest it, since the gap leading out of the crop is about the circumference of a pencil! . Seeds are great, wild bird core with corn is good. More expensive is prepackaged pigeon seed available at nurture stores or pigeon pellets , which is what I feed all my show birds!
Hope this help!
Pigeons are more or less rats with wing, they are happy with whatever collation they can get.
