Lovebirds lay eggs!! aid 10 points?
hi i have 6 lovebirds and two pairs are breeding one pair has layed 3 eggs the concluding week and the other pair only layed 1 egg
this is my first time breeding theese birds can anyone give me a motivation for them only laying 1 egg please help gratitude
not all birds lay indistinguishable amount of eggs
First of all u need to cause sure they are male/female as sometimes female lovebirds can lay eggs even though they have not mate with a male, but these eggs are infertile.
To make certain they are fertile do the following test: Whenever eggs are old enough (10 days) you should know how to shine a light (penlight, flashlight) through them to see if you can see anything inside the eggs Don't handle the eggs beside your bare skin...use a sock or latex gloves or something of the like (oil from skin can clog up pores of eggs). If they are infertile you should be able to see through the egg. If they are fertile, they will be a dismal color, and you will not be able to see through them.
If they are not fertile you shouldnt remove it as your lovebird may keep on layin eggs on and on and that should be bad for her as shell lose calcium and other vitamins.
If they are fertile, you should know the first egg is laid inwardly 10 days after mating. The lovebirds eggs are laid in the nest every other day. The hen generally starts to brood (sit on the eggs) after the second egg is laid. It takes up to 10 days for them to be laid. Most time the eggs are laid at night. If you hold a pair of lovebirds, you may have 5 or 6 eggs in the nest.

Answers: it could be that is all that one is going to lay you don't know,its up to the female on how various eggs she lays,and no person can tell a bird how many to lay,don't verbs but just in case preserve a eye on her for binding,its only precautionary.
