Parrot related interview?
I bought my amazon a cozy corner that is canary yellow and he hates it. He holds his wing out from his body, opens his beak, and leans away from it. It is possible that my copycat hates the color yellow?
All my birds hate them.
It is purely a preference. Buying one is no guarantee your bird will like it or accept it. If you want to know whether it's the colour then try other toys & things he'd normally accept surrounded by yellow.
Colour can be a personal choice for birds. My ekkie hates red but loves yellow & lime green.
It took my at least 2 weeks to get used to its cozy corner. it was in actual fact a tent. Make sure you take it out of the cage whether it gets holes in it. My conure was a second away from death when I spotted her. She had manage to get stuck and hung herself. He wings were through the sides of the pen holding herself up. Had to cut the strings. She is all better now. Thank goodness I be able to spot her in time.
Maybe Your Bird Hasn't Been Use To The Cozy Corner Give Time If Not Than That's Possible It Might Hate The Color
He's probably in recent times displaying dominance. Mostl likely he is afraid and sees it as a threat though. It is probably stressing your bird out a bit. I would remove it from his cage. If the store wont embezzle it back, you could donate it to a local shelter that has birds, they will really appreciate that :)
Answers: Most parrots don't resembling to get into anything enclosed unless they are in the breeding rut. They will later look for a nest. The problem with these things are that the parrots (and other hook bills) is that they are made out of cloth. They chew them and then the strings return with caught around their toes and feet. It will amputate their toes. I have had it come up to pigeons. Their toes swell up and it cuts the circulation off. Or as another poster testified, They can get their principal caught in them and hang themselves.Hook bill birds are great at getting their head trough spots that they can't return with back out of. They will bite anyone who tries to help them out. Everything in a pet shop isn't pious for birds. A lot of toys are loaded with lead. Only use wood chew toys for your birds.
Your bird could have be mistreated by someone with a yellow shirt or top on. They have great memories. I am lately concerned with people putting these things in for their parrot. Any toys that can be shredded into strings should not be used.
