ok my cocktiel was thought to be a boy and now we brought him a girl but different colur but the problem with it is that the girl have the same face as the boy please could anyone explaine how to tell a girl and boy coctiel appart
Sometimes the veterinarian can tell, but that's not likely unless he's an avian specialist.
Otherwise, near are companies who will determine the sex of your bird if you send them a freshly plucked feather - they do it by trialling the DNA. Check some of the bird magazines for the ads.
It depends what color of cockatiels that you enjoy. If they are Normal Grays, the male will have an all pale face, and the female will only hold a touch of yellow.Pieds are not capable of sexing visibly. Males tend to be more verbal than females. He may whistle more of a tune whereas the feminine will mostly likely just chirp or squawk. The young mannish will appear to look as female until he's around 6 months of age. Dont rely on being able to share by the orange cheek spots one having a brighter one than the other. I have 23 of them and can right to be heard that is not a foolproof way to tell within my opinion.
