What does it be going to when my pet parakeet wont sit on both of her foot?
my parakeet wont sit on the perch stick right!she only sits on 1 leg!does this mean she has a hurt of broken foot?how do i aid for her without taking her to the vet?PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!
when its too col...they do this to warm their foot. try to keep it warm...specially at night.
Birds stand on one leg a lot, but if she only stands on one leg, you stipulation to take her to a vet.
Her leg should be tucked up underneath her, and rolled into a ball (that's normal) They stand like that most of the time, and normally use one foot instead of the other. (My bird's a lefty)
If she can't use her foot, you HAVE to take her to the vet. You are not able to set her foot correctly without a vet.
Edit:
I cannot relay you what it would cost, because I don't know what's wrong...
DON'T WORRY!
My bird does the same thing its totally fine! My parrot sunshine does it adjectives the time and shes like been doin it since we got her! Its purely aa balance thing its ok! Don't worry almost that kindastuff
Does she own the other foor tucked up under her ?? Or clenched up next to her body ?? If this is what she is doing she is resting... When a bird sleeps or rests this is how they stand it is nothing .. Does she stand on the other foot ok as all right if the answer is yes then dont worry this is everyday...
Answers: Hello,
If your bird does that for a short while, and you see her yawning and fluffing her feathers a bit- then it's normal. My budgies do that when they're sleepy and when they're comfortable ample in their perches to take for a while nap.
However, if you see your bird doing that all afternoon, then she may have a problem with her foot. Yesterday, one of my little one budgies got injured in the foot and he stood on one foot for most of the time, and he frequently stayed in a perch and won't fly that much. He also have a difficulty landing on a perch, since his foot hurt.
If you see that her foot is bleeding, apply pressure in it with a tissue to stop the bleeding and you can put flour on the injured area.
Here's a picture of my budgie standing on one foot, he is sleepy when I took the pic:

Hope this help!
if she is doing it whilst she is sleeping, that is normal, but whether shes doing it all the time you may need a vet check
:)
she's probably streching. Is it the perches? Don't use sand paper or cement perches. Be certain to get them in various morale ex. wavy ones, dowel ones, rope perches, ect.. You can also take her out and look on the bottom of her foot see whether there are sores. keep a close eye on her and if she NEVER puts the foot down, she should see the bet, Good luck and best wishes!
