Doent she eat while i am away?
If she gets hungry satisfactory, she'll eat on her own, but she'd rather wait until you're nearby. It's a natural behavior. It's hard to look out for predators while you're eating, so it's safer to devour in the presence of the flock.
i have had a lot of birds. and they are adjectives different with their own personality. i believe it is a personal ritual your bird has.concerned of like celebrating you are home. i don't come up with she goes completely without eating while you are absent. birds eat often. a way to find out for certain is to put only a little bit of food out and check to see if it is lost when you come home. just enough, so you could visually update the difference. i personally think your bird is just wise saying she is happy you are home.

I like to think of this as giving of like some dogs. They only eat when their owner is around I cannot explain why mut mine and my best friends dog does this.

Do you cover her cage when you move out? Cockatiels think that when you cover the cage and it is dark, it is time to step to bed. They don't go and get drinks and get food, they are completely blind surrounded by the darkness. So if you uncover the pen when you get home, she thinks it is morning, that`s why time to get up, drink, eat and play.
If you don't cover the cage when you are out of the house, she could basically be randomly hungry. Birds have cravings just close to we do, and they get hungry just like we do. She could own just went to say hi to Daddy, and go to go eat and drink.
This is completely normal, and nil to worry about. I'm glad you care ample about your cockatiel to ask questions, and worry going on for her.
Can not help with the bird but Coco (Fat Cat) say she would help if you ask her to stay for dinner. Don't trust her!!
Do you chomp through about the same time she is? Mine likes to put away when are eating.
