When is a Good Age to Handle Chicks?

Hi,

The late egg has finally hatched! It hatch this morning, around eleven today. I wanted to check it out to see if it is clean or not. But it is so small, and I'm afraid to hold it! Also, how can you tell if it is male or feminine now? I would really like to know.

What age is best for handling this little chick? And is it possible to find out if it is masculine or female yet?

Oh yeah, don't give me that BS truism that the parents won't take it back. Birds have poor sense of smell, so yeah...
I would start handling it when it is starting to get feathers i think that's around 3 weeks old.
No you can not find out the sex that young at heart but when it has all it's feathers then you can find out whether its a male or female.
I would confer on it with the parents for a few days to maybe a week then you may remove it from the nest whether you plan on handfeeding it yourself. Taking out too early, unless you are experienced in handfeeding from day 1 can be death-defying to the chick as they are very fragile and helpless at this stage in life. Depending on species you will not know what femininity is is until its probably 8-12 months old. Parakeets you might be able to tell sooner. If you are not foot feeding at all i would leave the infant in there for maybe a couple of weeks and tolerate the parents do their job. At least this way the infant might be able to cope with handling. I strongly advise not taking him at adjectives though until completely weaned.
about 2 weeks will be okay!!yay you got more chicks!! hope i helped
From the time they're 1 day ripened.
Answers:    Check it after 2 hours it is hatch!
Who ever tells you not to touch them has no clue ...

You need to bring in sure that they are fed within 2 hours of one hatched to make sure that they obtain the adequate nutrition - any chicks feed after 2 hours will develope a little slower But are fine!

You involve to check babies 2 - 3 times Sex at this stage No

Birds actually have a good sense of smell :D But they parents will single reject their young if their is something wrong with them ..
