Where buy a tame/hand raise budgie parakeet?
I want to buy a tame/hand raised budgie parakeet, but I can't find any that are in Texas. Please help find a place, or someone I can buy a house-train budgie from, In Texas. Thanks!
maybe try a local bird gala
First of all, it's just "Budgie" or "Budgerigar." A Budgie is automatically a type of Parakeet.
Second, as long as you've done your research and know that Budgies need a minimum of an hour a year of quality human contact, and you get it the biggest cage possible that have the appropriate bar spacing, and the best food possible, and are prepared to have what essentially amounts to a 3 year old child for the subsequent 15-18 years (if you get it from a reputable place), then by all process, you should get a young, male Budgie and you can find them newly about ANYWHERE. As long as it's young enough that the cere is still purple, but it's be sexed so that you know it's a male, and it's raised properly with plenty of attention from you, you'll enjoy a great companion that will talk and do tricks and love you for as long as it lives. If you don't know what a cere is, then you have more reading to do up to that time you get a bird. Just because it's small, that does not mean that budgies are good "starter birds." They're still intelligent dependent little beings, and there are still a species of parrot.

I'm not saying that a budgie breeder wouldn't lay it on thick on craigslist, or sell to petsmart or petco and that you can't find a healthy bird from one of those places that won't get cancer by the time it's 8 years infirm, but generally speaking, as with any animal, if you turn to the national parent club first, they will hook you up with the most reputable place from which you can obtain your new little buddy.
Answers: Look on craigslist.com
look in the local papers
First produce sure you have done your research on caring for a budgie such as their diet requirements, hold size, etc.
Your best bet is to buy from a breeder who hand raises their budgies and does not flight raise their budgies.adjectives you have to do is an internet search online for budgie breeders in texas and see what you can find and basically ask if they hand raise their babies or are they flight raise and parent raised..
