Where can i go and get a parrot~?

does anybody know where i can get a parrot cheaper than at a pet shop or breeders??i want one but don't own hundreds of money to spend, in the north west area please
parrots are easier to get than you muse, if u shop around and talk to breeders im sure u can bring a decent price, check out http://www.parrotcentral.net/how_to_buy_... for a good article on how and where to buy a bird, goodluck!
If you have never owned a parrot before, I strongly support you to read up on them, talk to other parrot owners, get identifiable with the bird and it's habits, good and desperate and see first hand how needful they can be before you commit to adopting one. The explanation why I say this is there are more parrots out near being passed from house to house because the people finally realized it wasn't what they considered necessary after all and it's not fair to the bird.

Parrots live well into their 90's depending on the breed of copier. And the larger Macaws live past 100 years old. So the bird is totally in it near you for the long haul, but the question is ... are you? Check out your want ads for someone looking to unload a bird they realize wasn't what they thought they wanted.
Sometimes people will list them for a well-mannered price in the newspaper as they have to achieve rid of them for one reason or the other. would suggest you go see the bird and chat to the owner and see if you and the bird bond. Need to take to vet to be checked out to. Another place is the humane society as they often enjoy birds that need homes.
A good way is just to explain to everybody you are looking for a parrot. Many people are looking to rehome parrots and will endow with them away free.

Nothing in life is free. You clear for it one way or another. I don't want to rain on your parade but low cost or free way possibly a new cage, expensive toys unless you are clever near your hands and have time to make toys ,fresh foods and pellet and most expensive of all avian vet visits.

Low cost or free can mean the bird comes near a pile of baggage---mental and physical. Screaming ,feather plucking and biting to mention the most common.

Free or cheap ----no such thing beside animals. But on the other hand you could strike it lucky. I did twice. Just be careful what you wish for. You may of late get it

Talk to a store that sells birds exclusively. They may be able to assistance. Sometimes they get in consignments from people who own movrd, passed away, etc. These birds need loving homes and often are much cheaper. Many hold the cage and all. Get to know the store owner and she can keep an eye unequivocal for you. be patient to find the right bird too!
What kind of parrot are you looking for . The minimum cost is NOT cheap . My guys for them that be the cheap part the expences were the cage at $400 bucks toys another $150 Food $50 , other necessaries I will speak for carriers ect I spent another $50 and their mobile gyms at another total of $ 600and then the vet check up at $250add this up and you are quickly mounting an $1500 dollar bill , this is for the begining of owning , after that I run more or less $1200 per year for toys , foods , and vet care . They also do NOT make good apartment pets as our guys hold shreded our mini blinds so keep in mind a bored beak will be a engaged beak at making thier own toys ...
