Where can i grasp free chickens (hens) to lay me eggs ,to keep hold of on my allottment local contained by birmingham ?
im after some chickens free ex battery or other that will lay eggs that i can keep on my allotment , i live by birmingham airport , will pick up my self locally thanks

look up poultry farmers in your local yellow pages/phone book. Commercial farmers usually with the sole purpose keep stock for one year,remove old hens and replace with babyish stock,they do not replace all the hens at the same time so they can get a regular supply of eggs,offer to help remove or stock a shed for payment and a couple of hens. you never know. well-mannered luck
Answers: You can't bring anything for free these days. Ex-bats are sold to make sure they move about to someone who gives a damn about them, and also to fund the resuce of more ex-bats.
Do you know anything about chicken diligence? Such as the space needed, and also care including de-lousing etc. Do you know how to protect them from predators etc etc etc
There is so much that you need to know before getting chickens, they aren't as jammy to care for as people think.
