Which of the more adjectives birds surrounded by tepid climates migrate and which ones do not?

anybody can give a quick list of the adjectives birds which do migrate and do not migrate??

where do the ones who migrate go to?

and where do the ones who do not hideaway normally till Spring?

also do the ones who migrate do at a specific time usually each year?
how do they know when it is time to go?

Common birds in the U.S. that migrate:
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Dark-eyed Junco
White-crowned Sparrow
Ruby-crowned Kinglet

Common birds in the U.S. that do not migrate:
Northern Cardinal
Blue Jay
Mourning Dove
Common Raven

The ones that I listed that migrate unanimously spend their springs in Canada and Alaska and the winters in the lower 48 states in the U.S. Different species walk out at slightly different times. Generally breeding season lasts from March-July..most birds arrive to their breeding grounds between March and May (depending on species) and most leave between July and October to head put money on to their winter grounds.
