Why cant chickens fly?
I mean fly properly like other types of birds.
And they do have wing like other birds but why cant they fly?
Dont answer with evolution or something stupid.
Because of the weight of their bodies compared to the size of the wing.
Even different breeds/species of birds are restricted in their abilities to fly and a chicken is no different.
Just the other day,one of my tentative chicks which is 3 months old even surprised me and while wanting to get from point A to point B actually took a get and was off in the heavens. . . FLYING!
This little pullet (teenager stage of the up coming hen) flew about 7 foot in the air for roughly 20ft. I was amazed. I am not so sure that had her destination not come up as it did,she may own flown even further.
People give chickens sooo little credit for their flying abilities.
They're too heavy. A chicken obviously has a immensely different body type than birds that can fly. I can't explain any more than that without discussing evolution, which is apparently stupid.
Chickens can fly, but most of the time wen people own chicken they gget in attendance wings clipped so they cant fly, or they pull out the longest feather on the wing (has a indisputable name jus cant memba at the mo.) an this causes them to be unbalanced surrounded by flight making it veryy difficult for them to fly...an some chickens just dont want to fly away...they are happy where on earth they are
Partly due to their weight. The rest has to do with person domesticated for so long.
Chickens can fly, but it's only for particularly short distances. The reason why they can't fly very far is because of their weight. The body is too big contained by proportion with their wings.
Evolution DUHHHHHH!
just kid
well yea its because the are ground feeders so their wings didn't have a common sense to fly and because since they are usually on farms they didnt have to travel for food
and also because of their shipment
and their body shape is different than birds that do have the ability to fly
they can do a somewhat of a fly though
Flying is not a chickens' strong suit.
Answers: hi i try to explain near my bad english because i am not aussie. usually the birds bons have a gap in the middle where there is the heavens and for this them can fly their bons are light. for the chickens, emu and other birds them bons are more similar at our are withouty cavity, are full bons.
the problem is they cant fly but them dimention dont become bigger same the emu, or the kasuar , probably because in the forest where originally the chicken is from will be not essential be big. is part of evolution and adapting at the habitat.
i hoping you undersstand my perfect english
cheers
