Why do birds softly nip at you when you rub their nouns?
My bird is a Meyers Parrot. Every time i rub his neck he always does this soft little nip. It's not at all a bite, but it's nearly like he is just feeling near his tongue. I'm just not sure on this one.
My green cheek conure does this too! I thought maybe it was just because he like being rubbed, or maybe to hang on lol :P
My cockatiel does like peas in a pod thing. I think it's the fact he doesn't want me to stop. He loves when I rub his collar. It seems as though he is telling you he likes it and to not stop.
Answers: the bird is telling you that it trusts and loves you
No its not that they want you to stop is because it feels good and they like you. I looked up bird reaction.
Many companion parrot do this & many people believe it is like a dog licking you..a method to show affection toward a flock mate.
