Why do parrot can have a chat?
I always wonder why parrots are the only animals (as far as I know.) that can copy what human says. please tell me how do they copy someone's words.
Parrots don,t have vocal chords,They use air to confer. If you watch your bird talk you will see he can talk near his mouth full.
hey erm.. they dont actually copy you'r words exact. they swot to say them. so if i said to my parrot "hello" and said it over and over again for a couple of months it would revise to say "hello" and would say it to me.
but some times if they dont close to a word they dont say it. like if i said "what's up" and tried to memorize it to say that it might think i dont like that! and not swot up to say it. so the point is they dont copy exact they learn to say words.
i hoped i help. :)
Answers: Birds do not have a diaphragm (what humans own to produce sound.) They have an organ called the syrinx.
Here is a great pattern page with more information about the syrinx:

Parrots have vocal chords that can copy your words, but not exactly.
