Why do pet birds within aviarys require nest boxes? ?
WHat purpose do they serve? Can you keep birds in an aviary without them?
only use a nest box if u r going 2 breed birds
You only need nest boxes whether you intend on breeding them.
Answers: You just need nestboxes if you have cavity dwellers. Most of the species I save build their own nest without nestboxes.
If you provide them with the proper environment, they will breed without nestboxes. In certainty some species won't even accept nestboxes!!
I join two pictures of nests i had contained by my aviary. First on is a Blue-black grassquit (Volatinia jacarina) nest and the second one is the nest of a Red-eared waxbill (Estrild troglodytes)
