Why do they speak you must put your doves within a room next to south facing window?

A friend of mine has Diamond doves and I read some were that their cages involve to be placed in rooms with south facing windows ...why?
Answers:    Actually it does gross sense, birds get more light facing south than they would facing north, birds are happier healthier and are more prepared to breed than birds with liitle or no exposure to sunlight. The sun emitts vitamin D, and beneficial rays to birds. They need it for survival. My canaries are surrounded by front of a window facing south, they get plenty of natural sunlight.
adjectives year long the south rooms have light from the sun,but ive never herd that you hold to,it don't make sense,
