Why don't chickens die after you cut their head sour?

i no its a random question but why do they take a couple second to die after you behead them?? its not that i want to do it i would never do that! just wondering!
The blood vessels running to the head are not that large and the heart keep beating sending the blood to the rest of the body. When there is not enough blood to grasp oxygen to the rest of the body it dies. without the head, there is no authentic control of the body.
Daishahi. . . .it totally correct.

As beside any animal with a brain and a brain stem.Once that brain stem is severed the electrical impulses that go from the brain to the rest of the body more or smaller number "short circuits".
After a chicken loses it head, the body will flop involuntarily until those electrical impulses to the rest of the body dies.

You don't even really have to execute them to cause this. Just by breaking the chicken's neck will cause this. Generally when bloodshed a chicken you want the head to come away from the body so that the flopping that the chicken does will help them to bleed out and brand it much better for dressing them out so to cook them.
They do,their nerves aren't completely dead yet.
Hi, chickens are still alive when their heads are chopped off, because not that much blood is supplied to the head/brain, and the blood keeps pumping until massive blood loss occur resulting in death.
Answers:    They are dead...they simply don't know it.

Actually, it is possible for a chicken to have its head cut off & preserve walking around..Mike, a chicken scheduled for the cook pot, had his head cut sour & continued to walk around for some 18 months.

He was fed down his nouns & his body continued to function normally.

Well I think they do die because my grandma (she scares me!), she hunts them like whether she was an animal. Ok lets not even talk give or take a few her !
And she hunts other animals like iguanas !! EEEEEWWWWWWWWW!11
because its like the nerves are still working but they are loosng blood their be some story that a chicken did survive without a head but only a couple months and after she died

they do but ther bodies spasm from blood loss
