Why is my bird biting?
I got a new bird and I was varying somthing in the cage and he stepped on my hand so I took him out and stroked him and he started nibble on me so I lit him and he just kept doing it. Is that normal?
Yes it is normal. As long as not aggressive with you. Birds experiment and feel things with their beaks. This is how they express themselves. Get a apt book on the bird you got as this will explain everything and what to look for and expect of them. Congrats on your bird good luck to you. :)
Do NOT hit the bird. You want him to associate you and your mitt with love, food, just positive- never negative. He will take tie to get used to you and his new home. Be merciful and follow the birds lead. If he bites too much, put him down but still talk with him and tolerate him know you are his friend, and not his enemy!
Answers: yes, as long as it's not hard and breaking your skin, this is a dutiful sign! he is showing you affection by "preening" you. he would be doing this to another bird, but since he sees you as a "flock member" he is loving up on you! be happy, you are a good bird owner ^^
DONT HIT UR BIRD! MEANIE!!
