Why should you not nurture bread to birds?
I've heard that you should not feed bread to birds can someone please tell me why?
According to my "bird man" mate, it's because if they get into the habit of in recent times eating bread they are missing out on other nutriments etc they should be getting from their natural food. Personally, I doubt whether that's likely to happen very normally.
At our local duck/swan pond they ask people only to feed them in a certain time period, so that otherwise they do eat their typical food. And apparently there's little nourishment in white bread. They prefer you to use wholegrain!
You can feed bread to birds, just don't nurture them too much because it doesn't really have any protein at all. If you want to feed birds, try throwing out some bits of corn, some bits of veggies, or bits of fruit. Also bird kernel is okay, as long as you don't feed them too much of it. When outside, try not to drop food as pigeons and crows and stuff begin to become dependent on humans for food and when humans aren't within, they will starve. So only feed them a little bit of food every week, or merely once.
Apparently you cant give bread to birds because it swells in their stomachs and makes them large and so its harder for them to fly.
Most commercially available bread contains preservatives. You shouldn't nurture birds people food as it can make them dependent on people for food, it will lead to them to loose their fear of humans and become more vulnerable to danger from cars, cats and dogs and other things they would not be otherwise exposed to. Unless there's a gaping blanket of snow they can find their own food.
i thought they said not to because the bread didn't own the birds specific diet ingredients in or something
I have 2 possible resons:
1- They devour it, it absorbs water, and they explode (maybe)
2- They're like bear. You give them food, they come back the next morning expecting more food. Eventually, they could lose their ability to find food on their own, and they die.
i heard it can swell up too much inside the bird.
well the later time i gave bread to the birds,
i bought my little son to the window to show him and the birds were vivaciously eating away when suddenly this cat pounced and grabbed one .
no practical joke
Answers: Most ancestors think it swells in their tummies which to some extent it does but not enough to slaughter them. What the real issue is with giving bread to birds as it contains yeast and yeast grows very efficient in mosit areas which birds have a crop and it sits in at hand and the yeast buds go crazy and the bird ends up with a oral yeast infection which invades crop and other areas in GI tract and kill. Especially baby birds.
Its a bit like giving them cake and they will gorge themselves on it in nouns to a healthy diet.
Mouldy bread should NEVER be fed to birds, it can kill them.
Off course you can!! when the breads outta date in my place..we just chuck it out untouched,,,,in the corner of my road & with in 20 miniutes it gone!!
Come on who care about that...your still helping them one way or another!

apart from anything else, it has no nutritional value at adjectives to birds
Bread isn't the best thing to fee birds as it is not a natural food souce, however, when innate food is short it is better tha nothing. When it is the breeding season bread should always be fed chilly as baby birds can choke on it.
When you feed birds it is important to do so on a regular principle as they get used to going to regulat places. Also provide clean drinking water.
