Why will my society finches not breed?

i have got them to top breeding condition they even get 13 hours of pale a day i usually scare them out of the nest so they do not sleep too impulsive. {i dont do it to be mean}

yes the only method you can sex societys is to listen for the male they have a very distinct song and he normally fluffs up and sings while he is in breeding condition if that helps . biddable luck .

Hi,
The birds can be in top breeding condition but they may not be a pair they could be the same sex. With society or bengalese finches after you cannot visually sex them, and it is difficult for even professionals to sex them. Males sing though where as hens do not. Your best bet is to get a group in a enclose and you should get at least one or two pairs out of a group.

if you follow all of the proper breeding instructions, you should know how to breed them. also, try to make the birds feel comfy around eachother, make a nice, mellow environment for them.
