Why won't my conure consult?
My family has had her for nearly a month and a half now and she is a six-month-old green cheek. We talk to her profoundly and say words like "hello" and "hi" loudly and clearly to her but she still has not talk. Any information would be really helpful. Thanks!
Conures are not great talkers. Males generally talk more than females. some birds don't talk until they at least a year matured and it takes time and patience . you should never get a bird lately because you want it to talk. it may never talk. I don't know anyone with a green cheek that negotiations.

I beg to differ beside some of the answers. My female Patagonian conure has been mistaken over the phone for another entity. My 23year old nanday has a huge vocabulary and can carry on a simple conversation and asks question like whats dat stuff when a new food is offered. Just keep conversation to the bird like it was a 2 year old child. Even though your bird may solely speak a word or 2 they can be fun companions. Answers: To be honest with you, Conures are not the best at repeating words. Sorry to burst your bubble, but from my experience with raise my own Conure, you may get your bird to say at lest five words. I can't garuantee it, but he/she may say a few words. I have my Cockatoo for two years, and she can say "hi" and make sound affects and that's nearly it.
The best bird known for mimicing is an African Grey, which can cost you oiver $2,000.00, and a Macaw. Quacker Parakeets can also mimic, but at time that's not even a garuantee, it all varies near the bird.

You've only have her 1 1/2 months. That's no where near long enough to hold her for her to pick up words.
As said above not all are conures the best talkers. Some only revise the odd word, others never talk at all.
My sun is 5 1/2 years out-of-date & she only knows 'hello'
Not adjectives Parrots talk, and it takes a bit longer than a month for them to learn, basically wait eventually she might talk.
I have had my sun conures for 5 years and only the mannish talks and only says one word...food! lol
Conures are more specified for thier colors then thier talking ability, whether you want a good talker try an african grey they are the best talkers.
Not all parrots will talk even some of the more adjectives speaking parrots like macaws, Alex's and African Greys have be found to sometimes not talk with individual birds. Getting a bird just for it too settle isn't a valid reason. Conures are not known for there speaking skilfulness but more there playful cheeky personality.
