Will cockatiels hold chicks contained by November?
We are now settled into our new home and i would similar to to breed a pair of my cockatiels.
I have done extensive research, but cannot find the answer to this one question:
Will cockatiels breed and incline chicks in November?
I know prime time is twice the summer, but i am having trouble finding information about breeding at this time of year.
I live contained by Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada if my region helps your answer.
Input from (cockatiel) breeders would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Answers: If the birds are exposed to just the right conditions (over 12 hours of desk light, plenty of water and food, nesting boxes, etc.), then yes, they can be bred during the winter months. Just recently, one of my cockatiel pairs enjoy laid fertile eggs, and I also live in a cool region of North America. It probably would be wiser for you if you waited until summer or at least possible spring, but if you think you can handle taking safekeeping of maybe up to 7 or 8 babies (maybe even handfeeding) and maintain their health, after there's not really anything I can do to stop you.
If the birds are housed indoors where you can control the light cycle, temperature, humidity, amount and type of food, etc (all the things that trigger the breeding contained by the first place) you can get birds to breed at any time of the year.
