Yes, actually it can. The pieces of sand can become impacted contained by your budgies crop. The purpose of sand sheets is to help file down the budgies toenails. A better way of doing this would be to take a perch that is made of cement (you can get these at a pet store) and have it contained by the cage with the other perches.
strictly speaking i don;'t know - but i did have a budgie who lived much longer than any other i have had & he ate the sand paper constantly, he did very resourcefully & died from a cancerous tumour - the vet didn't think the sand paper was a problem at adjectives
it can if he eats to much of it. Can motive impacted crop. Grit is not the best thing to give much of either. Also remarkable the sandpaper is not best option as it is hard on the feet. The best entity for a birds feet is multiple perches. One of wood, one of rope, and one of sand or preferably cement.. Good luck..

Birds should not be ingesting paper. It could rationale crop impaction. And parrots (including budgies) do not require grit. The grit could also cause a crop impaction.
Sand paper sheets are simply fruitless for your bird all the way around. Even if they don't ingest it, the sand rag is hard on the bird's feet. This includes sand paper perch covers. Instead, use any a concrete perch or a "Sandy Perch" that has sand actually embedded contained by it. The Sandy Perch won't shift around and cause your bird to lose its grip and the sand isn't nearly as sharp as the sand paper.

No, it won't damage your budgie. The sand they get off of it, will be used in their crop as grit. It will lend a hand grind its food. But it will hurt its feet. Its hard to stand on rough sandy rocks all the time. So survey its feet for sores. I still can't believe that they still make those sticks. Their nails never grasp that sharp anyway.
