Will my chicks hatch?

Here's the deal - I study a science course and we did a practical on chick embryos ... and me and my friends took some of the left over incubated eggs to take domestic and try and hatch because basically they were going to be disposed of.
I haven't got an incubator or any fancy stuff approaching that. I have a desk lamp that gets extremely hot which I'm using and I'm going to switch the radiator opening up and sit them next to it.
I've just been reading just about how they have to be turned frequently and have a constant temp of around 37 degree.
Do you think I'll be able to get some chicks? I with the sole purpose have four eggs which are about 4 days old atm so will hopefully hatch within 18 days time
Do you think what I'm doing is cruel? - they were going to be thrown away so I consider this a possible indiscriminate for life.
Do I need some kind of permission to hatch eggs?
Any other thoughts? Anyone else ever attempted something like this?
Hi,

Personally, I don't think they'll even develope into an embrio, unless you use a proper incubator.

An egg wants a temperature of 37.5°C at the centre of the egg to develope correctly, You must supply the correct Humidity around the eggs, how are you going to get sure the egg loses enough moisture?

Unless you use an incubator, your wasting your time.

I wouldn't bother trying to hatch them, a 4 days the "chick" will be a tiny speck, that is whether they aren't dead already, so they won't suffer.

Eggs need a constant heat and a certain humidity to hatch. It might be dangerous to leave the desk kerosene lamp on for long periods, it might over heat and it will certainly cost lots of money have the radiators on all the time.

Nice thought but not really practical I don't think.
put them in a plastic contianer 2ft square, put in a bowl of hose down put the bulb inside but do not close the lid shut let the air in the eggs breath hang around and see good luck i hatch hundreds try painted quails one day they hatch the size of bumble bees
I see you a pretty smart, I am serious when I say this what you are doing is not cruel but wonderful you a giving something a casual to live but don't worry they are going to hatch perfect temperature.
But possibly I enjoy not understood what you are going to do after.

You may enjoy a decent chance. You just hold to think what are you going to do with the chicks if they do hatch?
No you don't own to have a permit to hatch eggs. They pourable wont hatch and i don't think its cruel what your doing.
Answers:    Who knows, they might hatch, but the humidity has to be a moment ago right. Temperature and humidity are the two most important things when trying to hatch any kind of an egg. If it is not humid enough, the chick will die until that time it hatches and possibly even before the fetus forms well. You don't call for any special permit...but if you shine a hot lamp directly on the eggs, they will most credible die. The eggs also have to be turned twice every day. The temp should be right around 100 degrees and the humidity should be close by 60%, and increased to about 65% when the chicks are hatching. Please read my profile.
When I be in kindergarden my class hatched some chicks. I reason it's right that you saved the eggs but there may have be a reason that those eggs were going to be thrown out, but you can try to hatch them. Sometimes when even a mother hen is sitting on her eggs there are times when some eggs may not hatch for many reasons but don't get discouraged if this happen to some of your eggs. It could be because they just went bad is adjectives.
