Will my Cockatiel birds know how to SING to me?
Hi i have 2 cockatiel 1 a boy and 1 a girl. They are both living in the same enclose. I was told that my birds wont be able to sing to me they would just natter in bird language. I really want my two birds to sing what should i do?

My birds dont sing either. They chatter, and squawk, but specifically about it. Try letting them out of their cage every now and afterwards, maybe they will start to sing then. Other than that I really couldnt tell you. Sorry

To get my bird to talk to me and sing to me I was soft,consistant, and rewarding.For example,you can start off by whistling a note and see whether it catches their attention.Be consistant,when you walk by the cage whistle it again and they may get going to mimic your whistle! If you watch them doing so,reward them with a robust treat such as a few bites of apple or carrot.Seeing as you have a male and female it seem this would encourage them to socialize,although the males tend to be more vocal and ethusiastic.
Pretty soon you'll have yourself a moment or two choir! And then you can move on to words,and then to phrases! Some popular first words for birds are "Hi,hello,pretty boy/pretty girl,and babe.Pretty and baby seem easy to pronounce so they may take into custody on to those quickly!
