Will the bird still know how to bond next to me? 10 points PLEASE answer soon?
Hi, i have been asking questions in the region of the mexican red head amazon i am getting next week. I need to know something that can vary my decision though. I want to buy this female red head amazon, but the breeder have had her for a while. She was born may 15, 2007. I am buying her December 4, 2008. Do you think she will still be capable of bond with me? The reason the bird hasn't been sold, be because not many people wanted to buy mexican red head this year and last year in our area. She is said to be contained by good health, and the breeder said she love to do flips and show off while mortal held. I will let her out her cage for 4-6 hours of the day, training her and spending time beside her including cuddling. Do you think we will have a strong bond? Thanks ofr our answers!

You will defiantly be able to bond with her. I own a pair of African Greys that were hatched surrounded by 1987, my grandfather and grandmother had them up until 3 years ago and they now live with me, they took for a time time, but they have bonded with me fine, and those are 21 years old. With this bird individual younger, you should have no problem.
Answers: Go see her first to see if you click whether you don't seem to have a special something look somewhere else. If you spend plenty of time and love her then she should heat up to you but it's not garunteed. When you first bring her home leave her for the first 24hrs to get used to her unsullied environment just talk to her in her coop then slowly give her the choice of coming out by keeping her cage door begin don't force the bond let it come naturally and be gentle near her. Whether she bonds to you is up to YOU. There are specifics on what to do and what not to do. Mistakes are costly.
