3 month weak kitten seem to be peeing blood I don`t know?? What could be wrong?
Our Kitten is around 3 or 4 months old. She has all her shots. She doesn't step outside. I noticed today that her litter have had some clumps of reddish brown in the urine parts. And the clumps be more of a brownish color with little hints or red. She isn't straining to pee and doesn't cry when she does. I ha vent noticed her peeing in any other areas except her box. She is hyper like a kitten should be and is basically happy no alteration in behaviour. I wouldn't have even notice if I hadn't been the one to change her box nowadays.
She eats only dry food that we wet down near water. I read on here that cats can get urinary infections if newly on a dry diet. Could this be the cause. I am scared. ITs a sunday and we live in a really really small town and near is no vet open to ask till tomorrow.
I am so sorry!
I assume that you should take her to the vet tomorrow and find out.
That's the easiest way to get an answer.
Is she spayed? If she isn't spayed that's why. 6 months of age cats go through puberty. Males spray, Females have periods.
Answers: If she can pass urine and she is not in aching, it is not an emergency.
Look at her rear end, can you see if the blood is on her anus? or vulva? or subsequent to them? Off to the side?
Dry food does not cause UTIs Poor quality food (canned or dry) like Special Kitty or Friskies or Whiskas can renovation the urine pH to a less healthy pH and allow bacteria and minerals to build up.
Take a poop preview in to the vets on Monday, in a closure lock baggie, and they can test it for blood, or will be able to tell you whether this color is dye from the dry food. If they think its a concern then you can make an appointment near them to examine the kitten.
Female cats do NOT get periods, they don't bleed when they come into heat (unlike dogs who do bleed). Blood from the anus is related to a problem beside the intestines or colon, or even the stomach, not to a cat being in heat.
