Aaaarrrgh i dont know what to do! HELP?
hiya
i have a one year old fixed male tabby cat. everything be alright up until three nights ago when he accidentally escaped into the front yard at 10pm while me and my husband were unloading some big furniture from the vehicle and into the house. he is allowed free range out the back yard and within the house, but not the front as we live on a busy street. he escaped out the front and ran around the neighbours yards contained by three seperate houses. my hubby and i finally grabbed him after abou 30 mins running around with a torch. we got him contained by and he usually spends all night on our bed, but he didnt appear until the wee hours of the morning. a similar entry happened the next night, he is really really breakneck, he escaped again, out with the torch, brought him in, not on our bed for ages.so now hes spending hours on cessation staring at the front door and closed doors of the adjoining rooms of the entrace hallway meowing at them and jumping up. he be always a quiet cat even at dinner time and now i cant shut him up and its a dejected crying meow which makes me feel sad. he keep going out into the back yard and meowing and i only get three hours sleep last night worrying about him contained by a massive storm we had. he finally rocked up on my bed at 3am, only to wake me up at 5am meowing at the front door again. im so over it. what do i do? i figure out theres cats on our street. do u think he might be feeling a bit hormonal? its spring here. or maybe hes only just realised the grass is greener out the front door and wants to go outside but mummys mortal mean and not letting him? :( i dont want him to get into fights or be run over. HELP. any suggestions to find him to quit meowng and forget about it? ive tried playing with him, patties, yell, clapping, hissing...and im not into throwing water at him. any suggestions u could give would be most helpful.
I have had some same experiences with my cats past..they are so drawn to the outside (Its their nature) but all mine (3) are indoor cats as well. They hold escaped but after several times we always find them too. What we do is open out door to the screen door or our sliding cup door with a screen also...the second we stretch out it they are all right there ready to look out (I know adjectives they can see our the bushes right there but they must see out). They will stay there starring at the same entity for hours. If you have any doors with screens try hole them and let him look outside for a while and see if that wont make less burdensome of his wild side of needing to be outside. He is fixed which is correct but you still don't want him to get fleas or in a fight similar to you said. He prolly sees a girl cat and wants to be out there near her or the others he sees..its natural. He is in duplicate inviroment all the time and wants that out doors feeling but close to mine they dont get it they just get to look out, but my cats are pretty obedient, if we have the door open to the external they will step out on the patio and just kinda sniff around but wont leave unless they see another cat which consequently we get them quickly cause we know what will arise. Or they get into the flower bed and look around but they always know where to progress when we say there name..posterior into the house. Just let him look outside and get that breeze ion their frontage to calm him down. Hope that helps!
he probaly like the outside, ithink its beacuse hes indoor mine are outside and want inside alot i guess cats are like that want what they cant hold lo
Answers: Is he fixed?
It's so concrete to distract a cat from something they really WANT. And it's obvious your cat really wants to be in the front. As much as it bugs you and annoys you and as much as you surface bad..You can't give in. You nurture enough about him to not let him win run over..You just have to continue to disregard it. Hopefully he'll lose interest.
My cats stay indoors because we live off a real busy street too..
he needs his time out of the house, agree to him get use to the surroundings, and you will find generally he will come posterior, he needs the outdoors just like us, one cooped up inside is bad for him. also try and have him chopped if he is'nt alsready
