Any re-litter box training concept?
My cat that I have had for the past 5 years have always been using her litter box. This weekend she started going outside the litter box. I dont know whether I have to retrain her to use it again. Also, she is an indoor cat but sometimes I do let outside for a couple of hours. I dont know whether this had anything to do with it or not? Maybe someone can help? Please!
It's not normal for a boxed trained cat to start doing this suddenly. She could have a urinary or bladder infection and should be see by a vet.
Not using the box is usually caused by one of two things, you can guess the first one a dirty box.If you recently changed the box it may be your cat is sick.I would bring the animal to a vet whether this keeps up. If you don't want to bring to a vet I would try putting the box in the area be cat is going then slowly move the box back to the area you want to keep it.Moving it a couple of feet a day is recommended
Answers: If the litter box isn't verbs enough for her standards, that could be it. If you've changed litter brands or moved the box, that could be it. If there's been a change contained by the household (e.g. a new pet, different work hours for you), that could be it. If it's having bowel movements outside of the box, it could own worms and be trying to tell you something, in which case you'd stipulation to take the cat and/or a stool sample to your veterinarian and have them check to see what generous of worms. If it's urinating outside of the box, it could be a UTI, kidney stones, etc., and again you'll need to have a urinalysis done at your vet's organization. But cats are almost always trying to make a point or bring your attention to a condition problem when they do this.
We bought two large dog crates and put them facade to face together to give the cat lots of room. In one cage at one finale was food and water, the other end the litter box. We permit him out for some exercise in the house but for the most part of two weeks he stayed in nearby and relearned to use the litter box. That was two years ago and no problems since
If you pilfer your cat to the vet and all health issues are ruled out here's a tip I heard a while ago and help my cat retrain to the box. Buy an inexpensive clear vinyl mat/runner (the ones with the little nubs on the back) and lay it upside down in the nouns that your cat is urinating. Most cats will not like the sensation of the nubs on their paws. And will be in motion back to their box. It worked for my cat, may work for yours. Also, I've heard of ppl using aluminum foil in like peas in a pod way. I haven't personally tried it, but what can it hurt. Good luck!
